ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc's (AFI) Adopt-A-Hometown School campaign involves Filipinos overseas to assist in the improvement of the quality of schoolchildren in their communities of origin. Scores of Filipinos overseas (from the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, and the Middle East) have done their share of helping the younger generation in their hometowns.

Problems in Education. The Philippines has consistently ranked as one of the lowest in terms of science and match achievements in international tests for elementary grades for the past years. One reason for such poor performance is the problem of basic infrastructures for education. Public schools lack laboratories and teaching aids to make concepts in science and math more understandable for young students.

Education through Multi-Media (E-Media) Program. The Department of Education and ABS-CBN Foundation have developed further and promoted Multi-Media-Assisted Instructional Learning, an innovative educational reform which can increase the accessibility of quality education and improve the learning process. With the continuous production of award-winning educational television (ETV) programs such as Hirayamanawari (values education) and Sineskwela (Science), an alternative form of entertainment as well as educational medium has been provided for the Filipino children. Studies through the years, both internal and independent researches, have confirmed the positive and beneficial effects of using Educational Television for classroom learning.

The ETV Package For just $1,200 an elementary public school can be equipped with the following:

	Turn-over Ceremony AFI will arrange and conduct a donation turn-over ceremony for schools and will provide donors with a video or photo documentation of the event.
	Teacher Training Teacher Training seminar on effective utilization of ETV can be conducted for a minimum donation of 10 sets/region.
