WHAT IS ETV?

ETV or Educational Television is a campaign that promotes television-assisted instruction in the classroom. It uses curriculum-based education programs as audio-visual references in discussing lessons, therefore making state-of-the-art audio-visual references readily accessible to teachers and their students.

Since 1996, the ABS-CBN Foundation has been heavily involved in partnering with advertisers, LGUs and NGOs in its Adopt-A-Hometown School campaign. These sectors donate ETV infrastructure (TV monitors, DVD players and video materials) to schools through the ABS-CBN Foundation. The shows can be viewed during its regular airing on TV or in video.

There are 3 key players in the implementation of ETV. ABS-CBN Foundation produces the shows and serves as a conduit of ETV infrastructure donations to schools. The Department of Education ensures implementation of the campaign in the field through endorsement and by monitoring the impact made by the shows. The benefactors sponsor ETV infrastructure for the schools.
